Like many events in spring 2020, the celebration launch of the Penrhys Pilgrimage Way was cancelled. In its place, I launched a ‘virtual pilgrimage’ using over 120m of footpaths created in workshops that I facilitated in primary schools. Participants created the footpaths by drawing around their foot and writing responses inside the outline about the places that are special to them.
Using #virtualpilgrimage on social media, pictures of the footpath in locations along the walking route, from Llandaff Cathedral to Penrhys, were shared.
